LSC Football Academy

AFL

The Lakeview Senior College AFL Academy Program is located in Caroline Springs
and offers students an opportunity to develop their football skills in years 10, 11 and
also in year 12 within both the VCE and VCE VM education programs. The Academy
begun in 2007 and throughout this time, it has enabled many students to reach their full
athletic potential and experience success in the AFL, VFL, TAC Cup/NAB Leagues and
local football leagues. Collingwood’s Will Hoskin Elliot, Hawthorn’s James Sicily, North
Melbourne’s Tristan Xerri and Western Bulldogs rookie Cody Raak have been individual
success stories from the college to make the highest level and each have their own
unique education journey. The Western Jets FC will continue to maintain their partnership
with Lakeview Senior College where many of our past and present students
participated in development squads and several students have represented the Western
Jets in the NAB League Boys and Girls programs.

AFL Academy Program structure includes:

  • Skill development and game sense decision making with Michael Pisani
    (TAC/VFL/Local football experience as a player and coach)
  • Strength and conditioning with Darren Zahra (Past Western Jets &
    Werribee VFL Strength and Conditioning coach)
  • Sport Psychology sessions with Daniel Baldacchino (Past Western Jets
    and current Victorian Metro Sport Psychologist)
  • Dietician sessions with Ola Luczak (Past Western Jets and AFLW Dietician)

Other AFL Program highlights include:

  • Exclusive access to an onsite quality strength and conditioning space before
    school, during allocated timetabled classes and after school.
  • Program is incorporated into daily school timetabled classes.
  • Recovery/rehabilitation/prehabilitation sessions including introduction to pool
    recovery sessions at year 10.
  • Guest speakers & AFL club training observation sessions
  • Victoria University leadership and biomechanical skills analysis
  • Certificate 3 in Sport and Recreation, with a consistent mean study score of 30+

Football

The Lakeview Senior College Football Academy Program was established in 2007 and is located in Caroline Springs. It offers students an opportunity to develop their football skills in Year 10 and in years 11/12 within both the VCE and VCE VM education programs. The Academy has enabled many students to reach their full athletic potential and experience competitions in the European Leagues, A-League, American NCAA, NPL and FFV leagues.

Many more academy students have played elite football, each with their own unique educational journey and each with their own individual success story.  The academy program along with our college courses and extracurricular activities help to develop student skills, abilities and values. We aim to maximise academic outcomes, sporting performance and career pathways for life after college.
