We are thrilled to celebrate an incredible night at the Western Chances 2026 Scholarship Ceremony held at Federation Square. Our school community was well-represented and we are so proud to announce our nine newest scholarship recipients for 2026:
Zoe Leung, Taylah Mejia-Duong, Shahd Shihata, Aaron Kloppenburg, Crysellah Mamo, Amanda Arenas, Jaemin Yun, Chloe Warner and Mia Le.
A special mention must also go to two of our amazing alumni who took home two of the biggest awards of the night:
- Wasi Abidi – Dream Big Award: Wasi is using this major grant to attend the AI for Good Global Summit in Switzerland this July. He is exploring how technology can be used with empathy to solve global challenges.
- Denise Dobie – Helen Worladge Memorial Scholarship: Denise received this prestigious memorial award in recognition of her outstanding leadership and commitment to her community.
Western Chances helps young people realise their potential by providing scholarships, opportunity programs and ongoing support. They partner with high-achieving and motivated young people from Melbourne’s west and Geelong to enable them to thrive.
Next Steps for Students: While the current round has closed, applications for new scholarships will open early in Term 3. If you are a motivated student facing barriers to your studies, please reach out to our Wellbeing team to discuss your eligibility.
