Lakeview Senior College Celebrates Interact Club Charter Ceremony

Lakeview Senior College proudly marked a milestone on Wednesday, 27 August 2025, with the official chartering of its Interact Club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Caroline Springs under the leadership of the District President.

The ceremony, held in the Design Building conference room, brought together more than 95 guests, including students, staff, school council members, parents, and guardians. Distinguished guests included over 20 Rotary Club members, three local councillors, and the Lord Mayor of Melton, Cr. Steve Abboushi.

Principal Mr. Shayne Rule welcomed attendees and encouraged students to embrace excellence, leadership, and teamwork through the school’s core values of respect, responsibility, and personal achievement.

Twenty-eight inaugural Interact Club members were officially inducted, with the executive team installed by the President of the Rotary Club of Caroline Springs. Club President Lexi Whiley (Year 12) was invested with the president’s medal and shared her vision for the club’s future. Club coordinator, Mr. Alando Chia encouraged the students to uphold  Interact’s  core values of  leadership, service above self, and empowering connections.

The Lord Mayor commended Lakeview Senior College for empowering students with academic excellence,  leadership, student voice, and agency, qualities he described as vital for the next generation of community leaders.

The evening concluded with a celebratory dinner and the cutting of the charter cake, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the college’s commitment to student leadership and community service.
