Microsoft Office 365

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are excited to announce that we will be providing every student with free access to the latest suite of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, school email and OneNote).

This is a Department of Education initiative in partnership with Microsoft which will allow students to have access to the most current cloud-based technology. Office 365 for Education is an internet based service provided by Microsoft for educational purposes only. As we are a ‘bring your own device’ school this new initiative reiterates the importance of your child having a suitable laptop to bring to school each day. As we implement Office 365 during Term 4 and into 2018 the need for a laptop will increase. Further information about recommended devices can be found under parent information and BYOD.

Office 365 will allow your child to:

  • install five free copies of Microsoft Office on any device at home.
  • access all of their school-related files from any device, any time with an Internet connection.
  • communicate and receive feedback and support more effectively with each of their teachers.
  • learn the e-learning and information technology skills required at University and in many fields of employment.

Your child will be provided with their username and password and shown how to use Office 365 during Term 4 or early in 2018. This will give them access to all of the Office 365 features.

If you do not want your child to have access to Microsoft Office 365 an opt-out form can be completed and returned. Copies are available on our school website or at reception. Students will need to continue to follow our ICT acceptable use policy which is also on our website.
